What is Disk

A Magnetic disk is astorage device the uses a magnetization process to write rewrite and access data. It is covered with a magnetic coating and stores data in the from of tracks, spot and sectors. Hard disks, zip disks and floppy disks are example of magnetic disks.

Track and Spots

The disk surface is divided into circles whithin circles. The data bits are recorded as tiny magnetic spots on the tracks.

Sectors

Tracs are further divided into sectors, which hold a block of data that is read or written at on time.
